Angeles Auto Loan [Los]; Used Cars for Poor Spellers

If you are planning to visit Los Angeles, be warned. You might encounter a poor speller while in that city. You might well view a sign with misspelled words.

Even the words on the TV screen can have misspelled words, if those words had been sent over the airways by a station in Los Angeles. “Auto loan los; used cars do-in a man with bad credit.” That statement might well appear on your TV screen, while you enjoy the television in an L.A. hotel room.

You might see that statement on one day, and then see this statement on another day: “Auto lone loss; used cars do-in a man with bad credit.” One TV employee has failed to learn how to spell “loss;” the other has forgotten the difference between “loan” and “lone.”

During the summer of 2008, the owner of one apartment complex in L.A. had a sign outside that mentioned the “appliances” in those apartments. Those signs hung in front of apartments on a short street in West Los Angeles. “Auto loan,” “Los Used Autos” and “Great Deals” might appear on a sign in a car lot, a car lot near that one short street.

That one short street is adjacent to a section of the old Route 66. You can find it, if you drive west on Santa Monica Boulevard.
