Where to Drive, After Getting a Saint Louis Used Auto Loan

A number of the students at Washington University have agreed to the terms of a Saint Louis used auto loan. A sizeable percentage of those students expected to zip down Interstate 64 in their used car. For a few days in August of 2008, however, that was not possible. One section of that busy Interstate had to be repaired.

Between August 14th and August 17th, one of the ramps onto Interstate 64 remained closed to ongoing and exiting traffic. Work crews were in the process of connecting some of the Interstate’s overhead signals. Administrators at Washington University arranged for students to get a certain e-mail. That e-mail contained specifications about an alternate route to Kingshighway, a well-traveled street adjacent to the University.

Students who normally joined the eastbound traffic on Interstate 64 were told to get on Vandeventer Avenue. They were to go north to Forest Park Parkway, and then they were to go west on Kingshighway. Students who normally joined the westbound traffic were told to exit at Forest Park Parkway and to continue west on Kingshighway.

Like a car bought with a Saint Louis auto loan, a road needs to undergo periodic improvements. The University of Washington Medical School has paid for some planned streetscape improvements. Those improvements should make a nice addition to the roadways that pass the University’s campus.
